momentary pessimism

this is all pretty disheartening

sure, we get the satisfaction of seeing each other

every seven months

but no matter how often we say hello, we'll just end up saying goodbye again.

people always leave.

sometimes they come back,

and sometimes

they don't.

and i know i'll soon regret this post and say

"it's worth the pain"

but now and then the smile sags and

you've just got to frown for a little while
